Dr. Jim Stone of Crosswater Club Awarded 2006 British Open Flag Signed by Tiger

Tim Rusk, Executive Director of MountainStar, today on the Good Morning Central Oregon TV show presented Dr. Jim Stone of Mountain Medical Group Immediate Care with the 2006 British Open flag signed by Tiger Woods. As the top 2006 Birdies 4 Babies individual contributor, Dr. Stone will host the flag for the remainder of 2007. Last year, Dr. Stone agreed to match Birdies 4 Babies dollars raised by golfers at Crosswater Club. This year, he has again generously pledged to make a matching contribution and has challenged other golfers in the community to do the same! Says Dr. Stone, "Birdies 4 Babies is a clever fundraising idea, and a wonderful way to share the moment of great golf shots by helping children in need." "Hosting Tiger's flag this year is an unexpected honor."

Crosswater GolfersTee Off

Kim Rogers shares what's been going on around Crosswater.

  • Dr. Stone has challenged others to match his donation from last year, and we have had some anonymous people step up and who are willing to contribute to the cause.

  • The men's club decided to give a percentage every Monday to Birdies 4 Babies ... maybe to help 'buy' them birdies. That's been adding up nicely.

  • Both the ladies 18 holers and 9 holers here have each been paying a dollar extra every time we play. The fee on play-days is $3 and everyone pays $4 and the extra dollar goes to Birdies 4 Babies.

  • Many woman have been donating there winnings on a weekly basis to the 'Birdies pot' as well. Twilight Couples golf has many generous donors every Friday evening when we play.

MountainStar wishes to thank the Crosswater community for their ongoing support.

One Putt Wishes!
